I would like to start off with my new obsession, BB creams. Yes, the words BB cream have been thrown around a lot by cyberspace due to the discovery of this 3 in 1 product that is suppose to heal, smooth and cover acne or any skin lesions. Great for those who are always on the go or for those who simply wake up 10 minutes before classes start. There is so much information currently on the web that my input is merely a drop in the ocean. Nevertheless, I’m still a drop and if this helps anyone in any way then you’re welcome.
To begin BB Cream stands for Beblesh Balm Cream. Yes, there is a red curvy line where you think there should be. Initially it was suppose to be Blemish Balm but because the word Blemish is copyrighted in Korea, Beblesh Balm was created. I read this on the Soompi forums and since that forum is dedicated to mostly all things Korean, their information should be correct. OK, that’s it for the information part. The rest you can read off of any other site doing reviews. There is no point of me typing it out because it’s just a waste of internet space. Not that what I’m writing isn’t wasting space, it’s just that well, if you’ve searched for BB creams, you would’ve read all the stuff about what it is on the first Google search page.
My view on BB creams
I think the hardest part about finding your perfect BB cream is that there is no way to test it out before you purchase them. More so, if you do manage to find it, prices are highly marked up. I have purchased a few before only to find that the shade match is completely off the charts.
The problems I would face (literally) with BB creams are
· Pink undertones
· Grey tint (makes you look ghostly)
· Too oily or too drying that it cakes
· Wrong shade when there is the option of 2 to choose from
· Over scented
· No staying power
· No SPF
The most annoying thing about them is that once you purchase the full sized bottles and they don’t suit you, what are you suppose to do with them? You’re definitely not going to use it again because it doesn’t work for you. So you leave the bottle there, $30 down the drain it goes.
I currently have about three bottles that I have tried, the ones I have are not the popular ones that are highly rated. I only got them because they were easily accessible to me at the time.
The Face Shop – Quick & Clean Blemish Balm
Skin79 – VIP Gold Collection Super+ Beblesh Balm Whitening SPF25 PA+++
Dr Gowoonsesang - Brightening Balm BB cream
Coogi - FlowerTox 3 action Super BB Cream
All these that I have tried, the colours all do not match me. So I find that it is pointless to continue on with testing their durability and such when it will never match my skin colour. The closest one to match is The Face Shop’s BB cream and I'm (according to MAC) NC25.
To be continued...
