I still don’t know what direction this blog is heading to. Maybe it might come to a close it in a year, or tomorrow, who really knows what life has planned for us? I don’t.
One thing I know for sure is that there are many beauty products out there in the world, some worth the hype; others not so much. The product I’m about to review IS worth the hype.
What is it you ask?
It’s the IMJU Fiberwig Mascara.

Wow. That did not sound like an AD at all. Heh.
Moving on, I absolutely adore this mascara. It’s the only thing I use. Anything else is rubbish to say the least. I don’t find any purpose in buying high-end mascaras because they only really have a 3-4 months lifespan. I’d rather buy three Fiberwigs that will last me for close to a year with that kind of cash. Fiberwig’s tag line is “paint-on false lashes” and it really does do so. It has little black microfibers that will attach to your own lashes to make them look longer, but of course it can only go up to a certain length. I would however only advise people who are looking for length in their lashes to get this because it doesn’t add any volume. I think there is a new version though that promises to do both, but of course, no real mascara can do this.
With mascara, there is always and I mean ALWAYS, a compromise.
You either choose to have length, or volume; never both. I never choose volume even though I barely have any lashes to lengthen because clumping is the only thing I get out of it. The only way to achieve both is to either get lash extensions or wear false lashes every day.
What does the Fiberwig claim?
Top-selling mascara in Japan
I don’t have the statistics to this so I cannot prove it and even if I did, it would’ve been in Japanese which renders me useless in trying to analyze anything. Nonetheless this is honestly - and I’m not embarrassed to say this - one of the reasons why I decided to try it in the first place. Yes I’m a sucker for marketing; aren’t you?
Removes with warm water
It does, but I use cleansing oil to remove everything.
Long-lasting and resistant to tears
As long as you don’t rub your eyes or cry too much.
Lash lengthening and clump free
Most definitely; provided you don’t apply one million coats.
But there are cons to this as well and that is that the stuff in the bottle may become a bit drier compared to when you first open it. Although it is still possible to use, its bond won’t be as good as it was before meaning that it will flake more often and you can tell this as it lingers on the top of your cheeks. Only thing you can do is to change to a new tube.
Few tips I’ve learnt about Mascaras:
Never share.
I cannot exaggerate this enough. NEVER SHARE your mascara with ANYONE. The amount of infections people get just from doing this, I don’t even want to mention (mostly because I don’t really know the statistics but imagination is enough to salvage that).
You may be a clean freak or the person who you may be lending it to is presumably the cleanest in the world but DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, EVER share your mascara with anyone and that includes your best friend, sisters, OC clean freaks etc.
People who sell used mascara are just inconsiderate. It’s a matter of principle and don’t even think about trying the ones at the store with disposable wands like they have in MAC. Think about it, what do people do when they think they don’t have enough on their lashes? Double dip, enough said.
Lifespan is 3-4 months
This is pretty much self explanatory.
Don’t curl after application
I hear this will make your lashes more brittle and they will fall off where you curl them. You don’t want that now, do you?
2 coats MAX
Adding more will just clump.
I actually only started the tips section to point out to never share your mascaras. It’s honestly shocking how many people do this. I must emphasize that all opinions here are my own and you do not have to agree with them, except for the not sharing part; that you must agree.

i was thinking about doing a review on this today!
ReplyDeleteyes i love this mascara! i love how it doesn't give me panda eyes :)
